Tinton Falls, New JerseyCompletion of the Garden State Parkway in the 1960s changed the face of Tinton Falls forever from sleepy farmland to community neighborhoods and thriving business areas. Areas adjacent to the eleven mile-long strip of the Parkway within the town boomed with building of the toll road. With the easing of travel to the New York metropolitan area, many young families settled in the country of Tinton Falls just around the corner from the car pool. Commercial expansion and population growth continue today while, at the same time, great care is paid to land and open space conservation. This and the diversity of housing styles and costs make the borough very attractive to new home buyers. Tinton Falls is home to more than 15,000 permanent residents and the military personnel of the Naval Weapons Station Earle and sections of Fort Monmouth who enjoy the public library and many athletic and recreational programs for all ages. Residents are protected by four volunteer fire companies and two volunteer EMS Squads. And there really is a falls – right behind the Grist Mill Restaurant on Sycamore Avenue. | |
